What we are
Foodbanks have developed into providing an increasingly vital service in communities across Scotland, and Avondale is no different. We have been operating since 2016 and deliver food packages weekly to homes and families across Avondale.
We rely entirely on the generosity of our community to be able to continue providing support. In 2020 Sainsbury’s in Strathaven set up a collection box in the store and our volunteers regularly go along to empty it of donations. We are also supported within the community through generous donations of food and funds and we are supported by the ‘Working together for Avondale’ group in many ways.
We see many people across our community undertaking fundraisers and we are grateful for their support.
